For this assignment I was given a photo of a car that was taken by another photography student and was told to photoshop out glares and most of the background to match the demo the teacher gave me. During this assignment I learned a lot of new things in photoshop. I learned how to properly use levels adjustment, clone stamp, how to select/deselect/inverse select, and how to add text. I did have many struggles with clone stamp and the selection options but I walked myself through it an figured it out.

These photos are picture before the homecoming dance I decided to take them at Curtis ParK because i believed that it would have ample lighting and nice scenery in the background. Best Photo: Shutter- 1/160 Aperture- 4.5 ISO- 100 Most of these photos were taken while the subject was in motion so that I was able to get an accurate depiction of who his is a person. I learned that using a faster shutter speed for this was the best option. I feel like these photos turned out really well. I also feel like they depict who the person is very well.
In this assignment I was told to take a picture of myself using photo booth and then to follow the steps into doing photoshop. We had to first crop down the picture, measure the photo, make a canvas the same size, enlarge the canvas, change picture mask, change picture color, and place the pictures evenly on canvas (not in this order). During this assignment I learned how to use photo shop, some of the techniques I learned is how to make a blank canvas and to make it larger. I also learned how to change the color of the pictures. One last thing that I learned how to do was use key board short cuts like command+C to copy and command+V to paste.
For my second photo assignment I have chosen on the subject of people. I am hoping to get better at taking picture while the subject is in motion and so that the subject is not blurry, along with working more with focus an shutter speed. I think these pictures are good representation of people photography. You can tell that the person is the main focus and anything that maybe in the background is blurred out. I love to capture the essence of who a person is, showing who they are and what they are really like as a person. I am hoping to show this through some of my photography skills.
I decided to macro photography for this assignment to help me with some of my shutter speed and aperture practice. I took these picture around my farm, I thought this would be a good place to take the photos because the farm has many places that would allow for up close photography. Best Picture: Shutter- 1/1250 Aperture- 6.3 ISO- 800 During this assignment I experienced some struggles of setting my aperture and shutter up so I was allowing the correct amount of light coming through. After taking my first coupe of picture I started to learn what I had t with compensation after changing one or the other.
For my first photo assignment I have chosen on the subject of food. I am hoping to get better at plating food to make it look good, along with working more with focus an shutter speed. I think these pictures are good representation of food photography. You can tell that the food is the main focus and anything that maybe in the background is blurred out. I really like to cook food and I'm trying to learn how to plate food so that it looks pleasing. I am hoping this assignment will help with my plating and photography skills.
The assignment was to learn about the different types of composition. We were also working on getting comfortable with our cameras. Rule of thirds I chose this picture for rule of third because you can see that the focus is off center. Patterns I chose this picture for patterns because the fencing creates a square pattern in the grass. Symmetry I chose this picture for symmetry because in the picture the focus is in the center and there is a line also down the middle. Texture I chose this picture for texture because in the wood you can see the texture from when a bug ate into the wood. Depth of field I chose this picture for depth of field because you can see the depth to the horizon. Lines I chose this picture for lines because you can see the parallel lines in the side of the barn. Framing I chose this picture for framing because the door way of the barn is framing on what is on the inside of the barn. Perspective I chose this picture for perspective because I am showing a different perspective of looking up at the tree. Space I chose this picture for space because I am filling the frame with objects. Balance I chose this picture for balance because the wood and how its stacked gives a sense of balance. Color I chose this one for color because there is the green grass and then the pop of yellow from the dandelion. During this assignment I have learned many things. One thing that I learned was how to use my camera. Another thing that I have learned was how to see all the different types of compositions, in the beginning I did not know or understand how to find the characteristics of a good picture that hold a lot of composition.
Hi, my name is Sydney Gordon I am a Junior at Saline High School. I belong to a group called FFA; FFA stands for Future Farmers of America. I also have a job milking at a dairy farm in Saline. I also have a small business making Goats Milk Soap. In my family there is my mom, my dad, and my brother.
I decided to take Digital Photography because I have always had an interest in photography and how to take professional photos. My brother has taught me little about what he knows from taking this class when he was in high school. I mainly take photos on my phone and used Instagram to edit them. |
